We are very aware of the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, and that we are living in challenging and uncertain times.
Eight was founded on a vision to offer a helping hand to families of all shapes and sizes nation-wide. We have been overwhelmed by the community spirit and support we have witnessed over the past few weeks. Our mission continues: to make your lives easier by filling your freezers with nutritious and delicious food, delivered to your door.
Our Eight team of superstar key workers have not wavered in their role: to batch cook from scratch the tasty meals you have come to expect from us. You won’t be surprised to hear that we have seen such a huge increase in demand in recent weeks, but rest assured we are still here for you, and will continue to be for as long as the government deems it is safe.
We are doing everything that we can to keep cooking and delivering our dishes to you.

It is difficult for us to put into words how moved we are when hearing about those of you who are purchasing our meals for the vulnerable.
We have been playing our part where we can by batch cooking and delivering fresh meals for NHS workers.

ARE YOU STILL TAKING ORDERS?
Yes, we are operating as normal and will continue to do so as long as the government deems it is safe to do so. Please bear with us as we experience a surge in orders, and despite our best efforts it may be that certain dishes are out of stock from time to time.
However, our superstar team of chefs are working harder than ever to batch cook our delicious and nutritious meals to the high standard you have come to expect from us.
During this unprecendented time, If a particular dish is shown as being out of stock, please do check back in within a day or so because we are constantly restocking in order to fill your freezers and meet demand.
WILL MY FOOD STILL BE DELIVERED?
Absolutely, we are working with a range of independent distributors nation-wide to get your orders out to you as fast as we can
We are yet to experience any hiccups to our usual level of service. However, should anything change we will let you know truthfully and as quickly as we can.
CAN I REQUEST A CONTACT FREE DELIVERY?
Of course. Our delivery partners are keeping up to date with current guidance and following every recommended procedure with regards social distancing. You can request for your food box to left in a safe place.
ARE YOU TAKING EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IN THE KITCHEN AT THIS TIME?
Hygiene has always been of utmost importance to us, and we are being extra vigilant during this time.
All staff wear hairnets and facemasks and our kitchen undergoes rigorous disinfectant cleaning at regular intervals. Should any of our team experience any symptom of illness they do not come to work, and extra methods have been put into place to protect them while they are onsite.
Every member of our team has our full support should they need to self-isolate.
How do I cook the meals?
All of our meals come with full cooking instructions. Remove the sleeve and film. We recommend cooking in an oven directly from frozen for 35 or 55 minutes, depending on the smaller or larger portion sizes. Some ovens can vary so we would advise checking halfway through.
You can also microwave some of our meals if they don't require stirring (this isn't so well suited to our No Ordinary Lasagne, Fabulous Fish Pie & Lentil Shepherds Pie).
What do I do with the film?
We have tried all ways with the film, removing, pricking or keeping on and the end result is the same. So please do what you are comfortable with.
How many will each portion serve?
Our smaller sized portions are designed for one adult or 2 children. Our larger portions are designed for 2 adults and 3 or 4 children, with your preferred sides. Every appetite varies with age, activity levels and of course growth spurts! We have recommended perfect complex carbohydrate accompaniments with each dish and these can be dialled up or down according to persoal needs.
What is the minimum spend?
We don't have a minimum spend - but we do charge for delivery on orders under £25
When do you deliver?
We send out our meals on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. To find out more click here
Will the food arrive frozen?
Our meals will always arrive frozen. Delivered by our trusted courier partner, the food will always be in a heavily insulated box and will stay frozen into the early evening if it has to be left in a safe place. Once unpacked, the meals need to be put straight into your freezer.
All of our products are free from gluten. Our Fabulous Fish Pie and Lizzie's Butternut Lasagne contain free range milk (dairy). All main allergens are listed on the ingredients list to help guide you. Other specific allergies can be accommodated - do contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Where do your ingredients come from?
We only use ethically sourced free range meat and sustainably sourced fish in all of our meals. We only use free range dairy. We have built up strong relationships with UK suppliers, so we can ensure the best ingredients available to us. For more information about our suppliers, please do contact us.
Can I recycle the packaging?
Of course. All of our trays, sleeves & PET layer (plastic film) are widely recyclable.
What are Jo’s credentials?
Jo is a fully qualified insured BANT Registered Nutritionist/Nutritional Therapist. In her private practice seeing clients on a one-to-one basis she is insured as a Registered Nutritional Therapist, and in her capacity as the Registered Nutritionist involved in designing the recipes for Eight Food.
Are the claims you make on your meals evidence based?
The nutrients we focus on in our range all have an evidence base for their roles in supporting health. We refer to EU health claims as approved on the EU register, http://ec.europa.eu/food/safety/labelling_nutrition/claims/register/public/?event=search.
